18 Apr Tips & Tricks: Using Accompany to Break the Ice
Keeping in touch with your network can be tough. It’s easy to inadvertently let relationships go stale, and it can feel difficult to reach out in an authentic way. While you may have a big network, it won’t do you any good if you neglect it. Reaching out for advice or a favor will be awkward if you haven’t touched base in years, and you may become out of the loop on changes within your industry.
Luckily, there are a few different ways that Accompany makes it easy to stay in touch.
Everyone likes to be acknowledged for their hard work, but with so much news and content demanding our attention every day, it can be hard to spot all of the exciting updates related to the people and companies you care about.
Your Accompany news feed is where you can keep up with your high-profile contacts and the people who are important to you, and make an impression by reaching out about to congratulate them on the latest news.
From our iOS app tap on any headline and you’ll see a dedicated button to email the article to the contact mentioned, along with a quick personal note. You can also share the article via Twitter or any other favorite apps. On Accompany for web, click the relevant icon (email, Twitter, or Facebook) to share the news.
To keep even closer tabs on your VIPs, slide the importance on any person or company’s profile to ‘Watchlist’ and make sure your iOS notifications are turned on to be updated when it matters most. This ensures you’ll receive real-time news alerts when there’s big news on the people and companies you care about, so you never miss a thing.
From our iOS app, tap into Me > Settings > Notifications to opt in to news digest and watchlist notifications.
People and Company News Emails
Accompany’s People and Company News emails are an easy way to quickly catch up throughout your week. You’ll receive a daily email with the top headlines for the people and companies you care about, and can click right from the email to share the news directly with the contact mentioned along with a quick note, or share an article with your team or another contact that may be interested in the topic.
To ensure you’ve enabled these emails, tap into Me > Settings > Email Notifications from our iOS app to opt in to Company News and People News. You can also adjust your email notification settings via Accompany for web.
Staying in touch with your contacts can seem daunting, but it’s worth it. Set aside a few minutes a day to check Accompany for news worth reaching out about, and see how many replies you get. When you congratulate someone on a big win or share news you thought someone might find interesting, you’re likely to get a response—even if it’s been awhile.
